Today, people are still discovering how essential oils and essential herbs can help restore their hair health and prevent balding and thinning. Play with these homemade hair treatments and see what essential oils can do for your scalp!

1. Almond Oil

Almond oil is high in vitamin E, an antioxidant that can improve the health of your hair follicles to restore yourself to a thick head of hair. You can find pure almond oil in an health food store. Simply massage it into your hair, focusing on your scalp, and let it soak into your skin for half an hour. Then, rinse it out.

Use it at least once a week, or more if you have very dry or damaged hair.

2. Rosemary Oil

Rosemary has an ORAC value of 11,070. ORAC is a way to measure an herb’s antioxidant levels, and this means rosemary is just as powerful as superfoods like goji berries! The essential oils in rosemary are anti-inflammatory, meaning it can help sooth irritations like psoriasis and dandruff, and it can reduce inflammation that could be causing you to lose hair!

Crush 2 teaspoons of rosemary leaves and simmer in half a cup of hot water for 60 minutes. This helps draw the oil out of the leaves. Let the water cool, then massage it into your hair. You can leave it in without rinsing it, as it will be diluted and not too aromatic.
