You can find apple cider vinegar in most grocery stores and health food stores. And it’s not just good for cooking! It also makes for a restorative, all-natural, and organic hair care treatment.
Apple cider vinegar contains natural levels of alpha-hydroxy acid. You may recognize AHA from exfoliating facial creams, and apple cider vinegar does something similar. The acids in the vinegar naturally and gently exfoliate your scalp, getting rid of product buildup and dead skin cells that could be affecting how your scalp produces and grows hair. The vinegar also fights scalp inflammation, which is a common cause of hair thinning and baldness.
But don’t just rinse your hair with straight apple cider vinegar. Experience the anti-balding effects of apple cider vinegar with this easy to follow recipe.
4 tablespoons of raw apple cider vinegar
A couple sprigs of nettles and horsetails (herbs that control dandruff and reduce hair brittleness)
2 cups boiling water
In a small pan, boil the water. Once the water is boiling, add the herbs and let them simmer for 30 minutes, then let the water cool and remove the herbs.

Mix in the apple cider vinegar and pour it into a spray bottle.
Whenever you’re shampooing your hair, spritz the mixture onto your hair and scalp and let it soak for 5 to 10 minutes, then rinse and allow your hair to air dry.
You’ll notice a slight vinegar scent, but that will dissipate once your hair is dry. Almost immediately, you’ll notice that your hair is shinier and softer. Over time, you’ll notice your scalp is less itchy and flaky. And as you continue using the mixture, you may notice new hair growing in thanks to reduced scalp inflammation.
